Gaslighting: A Conversation With Julie Rivera
Tuesday May 11, 2021
Tuesday May 11, 2021
Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse where a person or group makes someone question their sanity, perception of reality, or memories.
People experiencing gaslighting often feel confused, anxious, and unable to trust themselves.
I decided to touch upon this topic because it’s an issue that has come up within our STRIVE community. I felt it was important to try and understand this issue from both sides, so I reached out to Julie Rivera (a former victim of gaslighting), and I provided my experience as a gaslighter.
Julie Rivera has always been motivated to understand what drives our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. With an undergraduate degree in Psychology followed by a Master's Degree in Marriage, family, and Couple Counseling specializing in Trauma and Crisis, Julie found her true calling in Coaching focusing on Life and Mindset Transformation.
Julie has lived a life that was not hers for many years and it was not until she left a marriage of 18 years that she was finally able to see that life happened "For Her” and not "To Her”. With this shift in her life, Julie uncovered a peace and happiness she had never felt before. It sent her on a mission to serve others to uncover their own peace from within.
Julie also co-hosts a podcast with her 25-year-old daughter Kaity called "Our Chic Chat". They discuss all kinds of topics about life including mental health, and why change can be so hard.

Anxiety: A Monologue from Lee
Monday Apr 19, 2021
Monday Apr 19, 2021
Our inability to effectively and healthily manage our anxiety is one of the reasons we choose to numb. There is another way.
Lee Davy founded 1000 Days Sober angry and frustrated that he had been hoodwinked into believing alcohol provided him with incredible value. When he realised that it had no value whatsoever, he vowed to help as many people as he could see that truth.
What started as a blog about Lee’s experience morphed into a podcast, a course, and now a community for people who want to live fulfilled lives as people that don’t drink alcohol.
In the beginning, Lee was a one-man team. He has since gathered the best sobriety coaches and created a holistic program focused on spiritual and personal development, person-centered therapy, grief and loss recovery, and health and well-being. As the founder of 1000 Days Sober, Lee now serves as the creative driving force behind the program, the voice of the podcast, and the leader of the community.

Money in Relationships: A Monologue from Lee
Sunday Mar 14, 2021
Sunday Mar 14, 2021
People rarely talk about money. It’s a topic most of us would choose to avoid because an argument is not too far off when money is involved. However, if we continue to push it aside, financial issues between partners can build up and eventually cause the relationship to implode.
In this episode, I talk about the importance of discussing money and financial concerns in relationships. It’s a difficult topic among couples, and it’s essential that we overcome the taboo around money to normalize talking about it.
Likewise, discussing your finances will allow you and your partner to have more confidence to spend on your needs.
Tune in and be the best version of yourself for the benefit of your partner and your relationship! http://bit.ly/3liyDAr

On Divinity and Pure Love: A Conversation with Neale Donald Walsch
Monday Mar 08, 2021
Monday Mar 08, 2021
Neale Donald Walsch identifies as a modern-day spiritual messenger. His best-selling book series, Conversations with God (CWG), redefines our approach to God.
A prolific author, Neale has written 29 books on humanity's constant search for spiritual meaning. Throughout human history, religion has been weaponised, with countless wars being waged in God’s name.
We understand God to be punishing, condemning, and judgemental. But nothing could be farther from the truth. In this episode, I talk to Neale Donald Walsch, best-selling author of the series Conversations with God.
He argues that something is fundamentally wrong about our definition of God. As His children, we model our behaviour based on an inaccurate notion of a punishing deity instead of one who represents the highest expression of pure love. When we change our understanding of God, we can start acting from a place of kindness and humanity.
Listen to the full episode and discover a radical rethink of your definition of God.
