Welcome to The Truth About Alcohol. I’m Lee Davy.
This podcast is for people who know something about their drinking doesn’t quite add up — and want to understand why stopping can feel so much harder than it should.
No labels. No judgement. No “rock bottom” stories required.
We talk about what alcohol really does to the body, brain, and nervous system, why cravings and rituals are so persistent, and why willpower isn’t the issue most people think it is. You’ll hear calm, honest conversations that reduce shame, make the confusion make sense, and help you see your next step more clearly — whether you’re still drinking, trying to stop, or have stopped but don’t feel settled.
If you’ve ever thought, “I’m intelligent, capable, and functional… so why can’t I just stop?” you’re in the right place.

Monday Oct 24, 2016
Lara Frazier on Prescription Drugs; Psychosis and Why Putting Female and Male Sex Addicts in the Same Treatment Centre Isn’t a Good Idea Welcome to Episode # 63 of The Alcohol & Addiction Podcast and my guest Lara Frazier Lara Frazier is a healer and truth-teller, a sobriety warrior and a pig mama. She is a love junkie & a writer, a student & a teacher. Lara shares a story of healing: in sobriety, through addiction, in life and love, and in all the other big huge moments of fear and magic that we rarely talk about, but we should. Lara Frazier lives in Dallas, TX with her pig, Peaches. She is also the Co-Founder of AddictionUnscripted.com. She documents her story of healing in the most authentic and vulnerable way she knows how; through her own eyes and with her whole heart. In this episode, Lara and I talk about her addiction to prescription drugs and how her doctors kept prescribing her more as a form of treatment. We speak of the inadvertent pressures applied through parenting. Scary drug psychosis moments that end up with sharp implements carving into skin, and why putting male and female sex addicts into a single treatment centre isn't always a great idea.
