When you quit alcohol you find a lot of time on your hands. I call this white space. It's important to fill this white space up with activities that will increase your growth. If you don't there is a danger that you may fill it with booze. So what do you fill the white space with? In this episode I walk you through a process known as 12 Week Planning. It's through this process that you will find the key actions you need to take to fill that white space. In this show I talk about the following: The 1% Club A community that I am a member of created by Andre Chaperon. I am not sure if the community is currently accepting any new members. Here is the link http://www.1percentclub.co I get a lot out of the group, and recommend Andre's training courses. Asana Asana is a piece of software that enables you to create projects and then disseminate actions to various members of your team. I have only been using the software for a fortnight, but love it. It's free of charge. https://app.asana.com/ Google Sheets and Google Calendar Both of these options are free resources and can be found with a simple Google search. Google Sheets is excel that can be shared with other web users. Google Calendar is a calendar that can also be shared with other web users. If you would like personal one-to-one coaching on 12 Week Planning then contact me at needyhelper@gmail.com and we can make that happen. Ep 23: Tonier Cain
Tuesday Sep 29, 2015
Tuesday Sep 29, 2015
Tonier Cain is one of the strongest and inspirational women that I have ever had the opportunity to speak to. Her history of abuse, both sexual, physical and mental, is as horrific a tale as I have ever read. Her book Healing Neen: One Woman’s Path to Salvation From Trauma and Addiction is a harrowing piece of literature. Her documentary Healing Neen is a wonderful accompaniment to that book. Tonier was first raped when she was nine years old. She was repeatedly raped and beaten throughout her life. She became an alcoholic, drug addict and prostitute. She was arrested over 80 times and incarcerated over 60 times. She has lost children, she lost respect and she lost dignity. For many years she lived underneath a bridge, whilst we all slept comfortably in our beds. Then, just a few short years, after all of this trauma, she found God and started her road to recovery. She now travels the world as an inspirational speaker and is an authority on trauma informed care. Tonier and I spoke for an hour, I could have gone on for several hours more. I will certainly be calling her back for a part two, but in the meantime settle in and listen to the remarkable story or a most remarkable woman.
